INTERNAL LONG LASTING BATTERIES OR HARD WIRED. We have a standard configuration and two different sub-options for power. It just depends on personal preference and use case. Remember the FoxxVault can always be opened with a mechanical combination when you have no power or smartphone to provide secure access.

STANDARD: If is going to used just for its base functionality (unlocking and tracking), the internal batteries will last for over a year. (We recommend changing them when you change your registration stickers)

OPTIONAL: It can be powered from the vehicle’s 12V supply, and the internal batteries will act as a backup in case a Foxx disconnects the vehicle’s battery or if the battery dies.

NO PROBLEM. The Bluetooth lock will automatically disengage when the internal battery reaches 5% battery life. In which case, the manual combination key-pad lock will be the only locking mechanism on the unit until the internal battery is replaced. Of course, this is a 100% mechanical locking mechanism that does not require any power supply.

Of course, anything is possible in the world of digital B&E, but FoxxVault’s™ team, who is comprised of industry leading experts on cybersecurity to make sure that it’s a veritable digital fortress. We do things like hyper-encrypt data in transit, over the network, and at rest - as well as in our DICAP Certified databases and data storage center. We use dual factor authentication to restrict access to only those that have the correct credentials. We also use multi-level certificate pinning to ensure other devices, applications, or RFID attenuators can’t access or “spoof” the system. Of course, we understandably think this is a great problem to have. So, we have gone to great lengths preparing for this eventuality. In fact, we fundamentally know that the best deterrent for would-be thieves - is for them to realize in advance that trying to break in or remove a FoxxVault™, is an exercise in futility and carries severe consequences.

Think of the analogy of an ATM machine. Everyone knows there is money inside. However, less than .01% of the 425,000 US ATM’s are actually burglarized. Of course, we all hear about these break-ins on the news – and that’s why only 1% of these crimes go unsolved.

Very quickly, FoxxVault™ will become like a security system warning sign on the back of a vehicle. Thieves will just move along!

NO. Unfortunately not. In order to make FoxxVault™ as strong as possible, we have built it with unibody construction, making the vault and license plate frame become one. That way it is virtually impossible to break into or steal the license plate. However, we are finalizing our customizable integrated LED Vanity Placards.

NO. FoxxVault™ is very weather resistant and can withstand anything most vehicles can. It will protect itself and its contents from inclement weather, moisture, and even extreme temperatures. But it’s not waterproof as of yet. However, we are working on a different mounting and sealing systems that will allow it to be fully submersible for the back of boat trailers, and extreme terrain vehicles.

NO. As long as it cannot be flipped down while the vehicle is in motion or area of the mandatory display. We meet all the US requirements for a license plate frame. For example, we do not obstruct certain parts of the license plate, where the relevant state information and registration stickers exist. We allow the plate to be visible at night for as far as 110’. We do not allow the plate to flip-down while the vehicle is in motion.

YES. For the most part. It’s important to make sure the vehicle’s license plate surroundings have enough clearance from the bumper or trunk mold. Some European model cars do not have the physical clearance due to the lesser plate height.
